How to Stick To Your Detox Cleanse
These easy tips will keep you focused and on track!
Let's face it. Loosing weight is not easy. No matter what you read on the internet or see on t.v., weight gain is mostly a matter of lifestyle and engrained eating habits. I will break down all of the fancy psychology and nutritionist-speak into two powerful words: Think, Act. Decide how you are going to think about food, exercise, your lifestyle, then act on what you decide. When you decide to do a detox cleanse you must BE INTENTIONAL.
1. Take a few minutes to relax, breath and think: think about what you want to achieve and why you want to achieve it. Give yourself a good pep talk.
2. Visualize. See yourself looking and feeling how you want to. Put a picture of a younger slimmer you, or someone else with a reasonably similar body to the one you want and place it on your fridge, put another on your bathroom mirror.
3. Remove all unhealthy foods from the pantry and fridge. If you can't see it, it can't tempt you!
Dare to prepare! Skip the food truck or fast food restaurant and pack you own lunch. Give yourself plenty of time to do this. Don't wait until the last minute to decide what you want prepare for lunch - it won't end well.
4. Cravings. Cravings come in waves. Just because you could kill a puppy for some chocolate, that doesn't mean you will feel that way in an hour. If you absolutely have to have to feed a sweet-tooth, have healthy, unprocessed alternatives on hand like dried-fruit, sugarless candies, or 70% or higher dark chocolate.
Understand your triggers. At certain times we react to negative situations emotionally and our only comfort is to eat something that we think tastes really good. For most people, this is the most difficult thing to control. Find other ways to soothe yourself. Pick up a good book, or do something that will allow you to
to become emotionally distracted. Yoga or meditation are a great way to transfer your emotions away from eating to another object or situation.
Remember, we are creatures of habit. It can take anywhere from 18 to 254 days for a person to form a new habit and an average of 66 days for a new behavior to become automatic.
